Monastery of Our Lady of the Cenacle : ウィキペディア英語版 | Monastery of Our Lady of the Cenacle The Monastery of Our Lady of the Cenacle (also known as Silverstream Priory) is a Roman Catholic monastery in County Meath, Ireland. The monastery is an autonomous diocesan priory of the Order of St Benedict. Dom Mark Daniel Kirby (b. 1952) is the founder and superior. The monastery was founded in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2009 with a special emphasis on Eucharistic Adoration for the sanctification of Catholic priests. The monks celebrate the traditional Benedictine Liturgy (Divine Office and the Mass), in Latin and with Gregorian chant, according to the 1962 extraordinary form of the Roman Rite. The monastery devotes itself in a special way to the teachings of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, (to whom the monastic church and lands of Silverstream Priory were originally dedicated in 1946), Blessed Columba Marmion, and Mother Mechtilde of the Blessed Sacrament. ==History== The monastery was founded in the Diocese of Tulsa upon the invitation of Tulsa Bishop Edward James Slattery.〔("Cistercian priest welcomed to Diocese as spiritual director" PDF )〕 In 2007 Slattery invited Dom Mark Daniel Kirby to form a monastery based on the Rule of Saint Benedict while also emphasizing adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the spiritual assistance of Roman Catholic clergy. In autumn 2011 the monks were invited by Bishop Michael Smith to relocate to the Diocese of Meath. In March 2012, the community moved into Silverstream House, in the village of Stamullen in County Meath.〔(US to open monastery in Meath )〕 The house was originally built in 1843 by the Preston family (the Viscounts Gormanston), and had been previously inhabited by both the Brothers Hospitallers of St. John of God and then by nuns of the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary.
